SARAJEVO, May 16 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marina Pendeš met today with the officers of the BiH MoD and Armed Forces with the rank of major general and brigadier, to discuss possible difficulties and problems they face in their work as members of BiH AF.
During the meeting, the collocutors exchanged mutual experiences, as well as possible ways of solving problems in work, with a special emphasis on gender equality.
Ms. Pendeš spoke about the importance of the role of women in the Armed Forces as well as the importance of integrating women into BiH society, bearing in mind that the BiH Ministry of Defense was a signatory to the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and in this regard implements and encourages on a daily basis the realization of all provisions of this Resolution.
Special attention was paid to issues of women's active role, gender analysis, awareness raising and promotion of gender equality.
The collocutors also discussed the participation of women in peacekeeping missions around the world, where more than 50 women have participated in various missions, where they have been present in ranks ranging from soldiers, non-commissioned officers to officers.
Ms. Pendeš expressed her satisfaction with the meeting, thanking the female members of the BiH Armed Forces for their loyalty and contribution in the many years of work in this system, wishing them success in all fields, especially in their further careers, the BiH Ministry of Defense stated.
