SARAJEVO, May 10 (FENA) - After 14 years of continuous holding of the festival, KidsFest will no longer be held in Sarajevo, said the Director of KidsFest International, Susanne Prahl, and added that this does not mean that the KidsFest project has ended, but that it will continue its work in Tunisia.

“These fifteen years of KidsFest have been a story of magic. This platform was first launched in Sarajevo and as such has existed for 15 years. For this reason, shutting down of this festival in the city where the idea was born, is very painful indeed,” emphasized Prahl.

For the City of Sarajevo, the end of something that made so much sense I believe it will be missed greatly, especially for the children. It is indisputable fact that we made children happy every year with KidsFest, and that it was a project that gathered children from all over BiH.

“The main reason for making a decision not to hold the 15th edition of KidsFest in Sarajevo is the lack of financial resources, but it is just a symptom. The real cause is the lack of political will, or the persistent lack of support,” said Prahl.

The idea of KidsFest as a global project, as she pointed out, is based on the support of the local community, ordinary people, and sponsors, giving this project a purpose.

Finally, Prahl expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton and the Armed Forces of BiH because they have supported the festival for all these years.
