TUZLA, May 8 (FENA) - The significance of the development of road infrastructure for accelerating investments, but also the challenges for urban planners brought by the announced construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway were the topic in focus of today’s business forum "Development Corridors and Economic Zones of Regional Importance " held in the Tuzla Canton Chamber of Commerce.
Modern roads are one of the important prerequisites for investments and crucial for the country’s development.
The construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway is a very important development project, therefore it is of great importance to prepare the competent authorities for the timely issuance of construction permits.
“We need to pay special attention to the fact that this future transport and development corridor also includes economic zones of regional significance, that they recognized in timely manner, adequately linked to the road network and, of course, to get their production and services dimension as we have seen with the examples in the region, especially in Serbia and Croatia,” said the President of the Regional Association of Spatial Planners in the Western Balkans, Šaćir Šošević.
The business forum on the topic "Development Corridors and Economic Zones of Regional Importance" was an opportunity to review the level of interconnection between the entities, cantons and cities in order to conduct timely and necessary legislative amendments.
