SARAJEVO, May 7 (FENA) - Taking into account the increasingly difficult situation with the influx of refugees and migrants to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially in Sarajevo and the Krajina municipalities, the Islamic Community in BiH warned that all the indicators speak that a serious refugee crisis awaits BiH.
Rais-ul-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef. Kavazović organized today a meeting attended by representatives of city and municipal authorities and non-governmental organizations from the Canton of Sarajevo, at which the current refugee crisis was discussed.
At this meeting, it was stated that it was necessary to activate the action plans and coordinating bodies established for such situations, and in that sense, all levels of government must start to act without hesitation.
“The need for international organizations, especially those to whom it is mandated, to be more actively involved in the entire process of solving the problem, was also emphasized,” MINA reported.
The Islamic Community expressed readiness to provide assistance within the limits of its capabilities but still insists on a systemic solution.
The conditions in which refugees and migrants today reside in public urban areas and everything that is happening there, as well as attempts at various manipulations of their suffering, are unacceptable and therefore the competent state authorities must find an adequate solution.
The Islamic Community recalls that already at the beginning of February this year they warned of this problem and asked the authorities to seriously address the issue.
