SARAJEVO, May 6 (FENA) - The Islamic Development Bank Director Bandar Hajjar said in an interview with FENA that the idea of establishing the Sarajevo Business Forum has been a positive one because it has given investors an opportunity to meet with decision-makers and key people in government, to exchange views on activities and investments in BiH.
“This year's forum gathered more than 800 participants from Europe and Asia and I congratulate the BiH authorities for the support in the organization of the SBF,” said Hajjar.
He said that foreign investors expect from the domestic authorities to adopt the appropriate legislation and improve the business environment, especially when it comes to overcoming obstacles and relieving tax burden so that there is no excessive investment risk.
"We have seen that there is willingness on the part of the authorities to work on these issues and to improve the overall investment climate, because investors are especially interested in tourism, education, health, energy and infrastructure," said Hajjar.
Hajjar underlined that when each country works separately there can be no significant development or investments, which is why it is important to work on connecting the economies of the countries of the region, which would create new and expand the existing markets, as well as new jobs and improved trade exchange.
“I am glad to hear that Bosnia and Herzegovina is progressing on its path towards the European Union because this process should give additional strength to its economy,” said Hajjar.
