SARAJEVO, April 18 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marina Pendeš and Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces (AF) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brigadier General Senad Mašović today handed the rewards and decorations to BiH AF members who achieved remarkable results in the Best Soldier, NCO and Officer categories at Best Warrior Competition (BWC) in Maryland (USA).
The competition was held from March 15 to 18, organized by the Maryland National Guard in the United States.
Ms. Pendeš congratulated the contestants on the successes they had achieved in this prestigious competition and presented rewards to each of the contestants for promoting the reputation of the BiH AF. On behalf of the BiH AF, Chief of Joint Staff Major General Mašović awarded the contestants with the BiH Armed Forces Coin.
Ms. Pendeš and Mr. Mašović highlighted the BiH AF values that are reflected in human resources, which also confirm the BiH AF members’ everyday successes at various competitions, training courses, participation in peacekeeping missions.
The team of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina included Second Lieutenant Marko Vidović, Sergeant Matija Ivaković, Private Ermin Hajrić and Team Leader Second Lieutenant Dajana Dangubić, who during the competition had to excel in ten different disciplines.
The ceremony was attended by US Army Envoy to BiH, Brigadier Mark Karas, and Chief of ODC Mission to BiH, Colonel Corey Shea.
The competition was implemented within the framework of the Military to Military State Partnership Program (M2M SPP) and with the help of the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) of the US Embassy in Sarajevo, the BiH MoD Public Relations Office said.
