SARAJEVO, April 17 (FENA) - During the year 2017, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH AF) implemented comprehensive, efficient and highly demanding training, designed in accordance with planned activities and established standards.
“Quality training is crucial to building functional, capable and credible BiH AF that will be ready at all times to fulfill all legally prescribed and defined tasks,” said the Chief of the BiH AF Joint Staff Major General Senad Mašović in a press release given during the break of the BiH AF Annual Training Conference for 2017, which is held today in Sarajevo.
The training of the BiH AF, as he said, was implemented through appropriate training courses in BiH and through international exercises, bilateral cooperation, training with EUFOR, as well as within the "Mil to Mil, Military to Military" program, implemented with the United States Armed Forces.
When it comes to participating in international exercises in 2017, more than 300 BiH AF members participated in nine such exercises - in Germany, Romania, Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia...
“Over the past period, BiH AF has developed five capital projects worth more than 350 million KM, as well as 16 new projects that need to create the preconditions for BiH AF to become inevitably more modern and fully interoperable and compatible with NATO countries in the coming period,” said the Chief of the BiH AF Joint Staff, pointing out that further progress on this plan implies a step forward in planning the defense budget.
