SREBRENICA, April 12 (FENA) - The 25th anniversary of crimes against Bosniak civilians was marked today in Srebrenica. The delegation attending the marking first visited the Potočari Memorial Center and laid flowers at the memorials.
The Vice-President of the Federation of BiH Melika Mahmutbegović, RS Vice-President Ramiz Salkić, Dževad Mahmutović - Advisor to BiH Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović, Chairman of the Association of Disabled War Veterans of Tuzla Canton Fahrudin Hasanović, representatives of the Bosna-Podrinje Canton, Srebrenica Municipal Assembly President Alija Tabaković, Deputy Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality Nermin Alivuković, Association of Mothers of Srebrenica and many citizens paid respects to the innocent victims in front of the primary and secondary school playgrounds in Srebrenica.
The program began with the state anthem, then the attendees recited el-Fatiha for all innocent victims, held a history lesson and laid flowers at the memorial plaque.
On today’s date in 1993, four shells fired from the positions of the Serb army killed at the spot 74 and wounded more than 100 Bosniak civilians who were on the playgrounds in front of primary and secondary schools in Srebrenica. The number of victims increased to 105, as some of them died on the way to the hospital and in the hospital.
