SARAJEVO, April 12 (FENA) - The Energy Summit, which will be held from April 25 to 27 in Neum, will be a chance to discuss one of the key topics in this field - construction of energy infrastructure.
“In order to eliminate the existing obstacles and secure investment potential, we expect immediate action from decision-makers in order to simplify the licensing procedure,” said USAID EIA Project Director Ognjen Marković, and announced that a special panel at the 4th energy summit will offer key recommendations, such as and possible solutions for their implementation in BiH.
According to the World Bank’s "Doing Business 2018" report, which, among other things, assesses the efficiency of issuing licenses, BiH is ranked 166th out of 190 countries covered by this report.
“This data is directly related to the volume of investments in BiH, especially in the energy sector, which with the right political decisions that are still pending, can be a motor of economic development in BiH,” stated the USAID, whose activities focus on simplification of licensing procedures and increasing its efficiency.
For the fourth time in a row, the Energy Summit will be organized by USAID's EIA Project, the German Fund for International Cooperation (GIZ) and through the projects "Stimulating Renewable Energy in BiH" and "Stimulating Energy Efficiency in BiH" under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, the Regulatory Commission for Energy in FBiH and the Energy Regulatory Commission of RS.
