Three-day training on role of police in exercising freedom of assembly begins

SARAJEVO, April 9 (FENA) – A three-day training course on freedom of assembly started today at the Police Academy of the FBiH Ministry of Internal Affairs (FMIA), attended by police officers of the FBiH Police Administration (FPA), cantonal ministries of internal affairs and the Brčko District police.

This training course is carried out in the organization of the OSCE Mission to BiH and in cooperation with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the FMIA Police Academy.

The training course was opened at a gathering in the premises of the FMIA Police Academy by the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Ambassador Bruce G. Berton, FMIA Police Academy Director Nusret Beširević and Branislav Crnogorac, an advisor to the FBiH Minister of Internal Affairs.

The OSCE Mission to BiH’s Public Relations Officer Anja-Lejli Hessarbani told FENA that the objective of this training was to introduce to its participants the international standards in the area and the role of the police in exercising the freedom of assembly.

Similar training will soon be organized at the Police Academy in Banja Luka.
