SARAJEVO, April 5 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak is attending the Non-Aligned Movement Movement (NAM) Ministerial Meeting that is taking place on 5 and 6 April 2018 in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.
The meeting discusses ways and means of achieving self-sustainable development through the establishment and enhancement of international peace and security.
Minister Crnadak today attended the opening ceremony of the Ministerial Meeting, which was addressed by the President of the United Nations General Assembly Miroslav Lajčák and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Mr. Crnadak then addressed the participants during the plenary part, emphasizing the importance of the Non-Aligned Movement in achieving unity of the international community in the fight against the existing and future threats to international peace and security and the building of consensus within the UN system in all important issues - from those related to the economic and social development, to human rights issues.
Speaking about combating terrorism and violent extremism, Mr. Crnadak pointed to the importance of strengthening the legal framework in this area with respect for and protection of human rights.
Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomes the new impetus in strengthening UN and regional and sub-regional organizations' cooperation, the BiH MFA said.
