SARAJEVO, April 4 (FENA) - The significance of BiH for Croatia as one of its biggest foreign trade partners and the intention to contribute to a better position of the Croat people in BiH are the reasons why the Croatian Government has decided to open the Office of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in BiH, said today Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić after opening the Office of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in Sarajevo with the President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Luka Barilović.
She pointed out that Croatia had a task, by its Constitution, but also because it is one of the signatories of the Dayton Agreement, to take care of the Croat people outside of Croatia, and that the opening of this office in BiH will facilitate this.
The results of opening of this type of offices are expected as early as next year and the Minister reminded that in the past year the volume of foreign trade between BiH and Croatia increased by more than 20 percent.
"We believe that this joint Office will help increase this growth every year, not only in the area of trade but also in services and tourism," said Ms. Pejčinović Burić.
President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Luka Barilović said that the coordinated and joint forces within the Embassy were seeking to strengthen economic cooperation with the countries where such offices are opened.
