SARAJEVO, April 4 (FENA) - Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein effendi Kavazović received today in Sarajevo a delegation of representatives of the Rohingya people, who expressed a wish to thank Raisu-l-ulama on behalf of their people for all the aid and assistance provided by the Islamic Community in in BiH to the people of Rohingya in Myanmar.
They also informed Rais Kavazović about the current situation in Myanmar and the position and status of the Rohingya people there.
The delegation was led by President of the Arakan National Assembly (ARNA) Nurulislam Jaafar.
Rais Kavazović emphasized that he is proud of the response of the people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Sandžak and the rest of Serbia, as well as from Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina the BiH Diaspora, who joined in the collection of humanitarian aid.
"Our people know too well what it means to be left alone in the world and being faced with a genocidal intent of a cruel enemy.
It is our moral obligation to stand with the innocent people of Rohingya, to ease their suffering as much as we can, to raise our voice against persecution and violation of their basic human and civil rights.
This is a crucial moment to make this problem internationally recognizable come and to help invest in human capacities of the Rohingya people in order for them to be able to fight for their rights,” stressed Rais Kavazović.
