SARAJEVO, March 30 (FENA) – Let us not be afraid of life but let us accept and raise children with faith and love. Let us not be afraid of our country, because it is worth staying in it and fighting for it. Let us not yield to evil, let us love what is ours, and respect what is others’, the Vrhbosna Archbishop Cardinal Vinko Puljić said today Sarajevo on the occasion of the greatest Christian holiday of Easter.
Cardinal Puljić also stressed that there is obvious instability and tension in all areas of life, which justifiably discourages young people and drives them to flee from their own country.
"Unfortunately, a lot of things are corroding in our society and we are aware that some of our vital functions have rusted a long time ago, such as industry, economics, production, all this in a land of forests and drinking water. (...) We need a country of prosperity and well-being, not a country of disorder and crime. Our political orientation must be turned from the deviant into the moral one, from the one filled with stealing, greed and covetousness it must turn to modest, conscientious and transparent,” Mr. Puljić believes.
He also points out that BiH is being eaten away by the "demographic corrosion" and that there are fewer and fewer children laughing and crying in families.
However, he is deeply convinced that the resurrection of Christ will bring new strength to all and strengthen existing hope.
“Dear brothers and sisters, let us believe that jointly, together with God's help, we will have better times. Let us believe it is worth living with honor and decency so that "God of Peace is with us," Cardinal Puljić concluded in his Easter message.
