SARAJEVO, March 27 (FENA) - One of the meetings that the Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Maureen Cormack, together with the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative to BiH Lars Gunnar Wigemark, has been holding with BiH political representatives, concluded this evening at the residence of the US Embassy in Sarajevo.

The US and EU representatives this time met with the leader of the Alliance for a Better Future of BiH (SBB BiH) Fahrudin Radončić.

In a statement to the press, Radončić did not provide any special details on the topics of the meeting, except that he said that they discussed political situation in BiH, adding that they also touched upon the amendments to the Election Law and the Criminal Procedure Code.

In the current political constellation in BiH, where there is lack of agreement among domestic political actors, Radončić claims that his party "has never been a problem", hoping that a solution can still be reached.

Ambassadors Cormack and Wigemark stressed that the international community will not impose solutions to these problems, because it is up to the political leaders to reach a compromise that will suit each party and every citizen of BiH.

"Do not confuse this to be some new Dayton talks," Wigemark said, emphasizing that his and the presence of Ambassador Cormack is exclusively serving the intent of the United States and the European Union to help and give support in finding solutions acceptable to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, or the solutions that would receive majority support in the Parliament.

Ambassador Cormack said that the United States and the European Union believe that solutions do exist, but they should be defined by domestic political actors.

“Today’s meeting with the SBB leader focused on a number of very important issues for BiH, such as the Criminal Procedure Code, the Law on Conflict of Interest and the need for reform of the Election Law,” said Ambassador Cormack.

Head of the EU Delegation announced that the talks with the political leaders will be continued, and one of the participants of the meetings will be President of the Croat Democratic Union of BiH, Dragan Čović.

Cormack and Wigemark a few days ago also spoke with representatives of the Party of Democratic Action, the Social Democratic Party and the Democratic Front.
