SARAJEVO, March 28 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendeš, and associates, welcomed yesterday high delegation of Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of the Republic of Austria, led by Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann, and talked to them about bilateral defense cooperation between the two ministries.
During the meeting they agreed that bilateral relations in area of defense are good and that contact is being regularly maintained between ministries of defense.
They also talked about peace support operations, where Pendeš emphasized that Ministry of Defense of BiH attaches great importance to participation of members of BiH AF in peacekeeping operations, and that it is trying to secure resources necessary to create conditions for successful realization of the mission through partnership with other countries.
"We are proud of our participation in peacekeeping missions so far, where our members have shown they can successfully respond to all tasks," emphasized Pendeš.
The two also talked about other forms of cooperation from the Bilateral Cooperation Plan of the two defense ministries for 2018.
Finally, significant support of MoD of the Republic of Austria was emphasized through exchange of experience in learning German, support to PSOTC and support to public procurement system, as well as many other forms of bilateral military cooperation.
Secretary General of MoD of the Republic of Austria Wolfgang Baumann used this opportunity to once again stress Austria's support to Ministry of Defense of BiH.
He emphasized that Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Austria, "is at disposal to Ministry of Defense of BiH as a friend and partner firstly in training members of MoD and AF BiH, who will then participate in peacekeeping operations and as assistance in rehabilitation after natural disasters, for example floods in BiH and the region," PR Office of BiH MoD stated.
