MOSTAR, Mar 26 (FENA) - This year's International Trade Fair which will be held from 10 to 14 April in Mostar, with Serbia as partner-country, will be opened by President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, told journalists on Monday, Director of the Mostar Fair company, Dalfina Bosnjak.
Besides Serbia, exhibitors from a about twenty countries will be present at the Fair, most of which are the countries of the region as well as hina, Hungary and Italy.
Mrs Bosnjak pointed out that Serbia was for the second time partner with the International Trade Fair, adding that Serbia will be represented at the Fair by 60 companies on over 900 square meters. The partner country will, for its first time, present its cultural and entertaining program.
- BiH and Serbia are important foreign trade partner to each other. I hope that after the Mostar Fair, foreign trade cooperation between Serbia and BiH will be even better and more successful - Mrs Bosnjak asserted.
The International Trade Fair has become a leader among economic events in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the wider region, Bosnjak underlined.
- This year, as in the past ones, we will have two sub-fair events, namely the Tourism Fair, which will promote local autochthonous wines, gastronomic cuisine and tourism, and Book and Publishing Trade Fair, at which many writers and new works will be presented, Bosnjak said.
She added that dozens of thematic conferences, forums, conferences, B2B talks will take place within the Fair.
- A significant conference of Technological Park Intera is scheduled for the first day of the Fair, and a panel discussion of the FBiH Chamber of Commerce with chambers from the region is to follow. In cooperation with the People's Republic of China, an international 16 + 1 conference will be held, and this year the topic is agriculture - said Mrs Bošnjak.
She added that this year the organizers focused on the marketing and conferences, but the Fair will include a cultural and entertaining program, too.
The Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Mostar, Marija Bakoc, said that with a EUR 1.7 billion of commodity exchange, BiH and Serbia were the largest trading partners in the Western Balkans region and CEFTA, while the BiH market was Serbia's third export destination.
- In 2017, Serbia's export to BiH amounted to EUR 1.21 billion, which is by 8.1% more than in 2016. At the same time, exports from BiH increased by 28.8 percent compared to 2016 and amounted to EUR 515.8 million - said Ms Bakoc.
She underlined that about 60 exhibitors from all economic sectors will exhibit at the International Fair in Mostar. Most companies come from the food industry, then from the machinery and equipment industries, construction and textile industries, as well as the electrical and metal industries and the furniture industry.
Ms Bakoc assessed that the Serbian company's presence at the Fair was a great opportunity for Serbian exporters to present their production programs, export opportunities, strengthen the existing ones, establish new business relations with BiH partners and exhibitors from other countries.
Speaking about the cultural and entertainment program, the consul announced Dejan Petrovic and Big Band as guests, who will perform on the first day of the Fair in the Croatian Home “Herceg Stjepan Kosaca”. This concert will be free for all visitors.
On Wednesday, April 11, at the National Theater of Mostar, the National Theater of Užice will perform the play "People's Representative", and a day later a Serbian film will be scrinned in the Cinestar Mostar.
