SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - Exhumation at the Dragojević Buk site in the Foča area, which began last week, continued today.
The BiH Missing Persons Institute spokeswoman, Lejla Čengić, told FENA that, according to the information it has, the Institute presumes that this is a mass grave containing the remains of Bosniak victims who were killed in this area in 1992.
She added that the remains have not yet been discovered.
“This is a landfill that was created during and after the war. So far, we have reached depths of 10 to 15 meters, and the landfill was 120 meters long and 60 meters wide. The search is being done mechanically and manually,” Ms. Čengić said.
The exhumation at this site began seven days ago, lasted for three days, and then it was interrupted on Thursday and Friday due to very unfavorable weather conditions.
“The works had been stopped, and today, despite the bad weather, the exhumations at this locality have continued and will continue in the next period,” Ms. Čengić said.
The exhumation, according to the order of the BiH Court, is being handled by the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
