SARAJEVO, March 23 (FENA) - Preparations for celebrating April 6, the Day of the City of Sarajevo are in the final stages, and on that day Sarajevo will again get its symbol, the Trebević cable car.
According to the Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka, the program marking the birthday of Sarajevo will begin on April 5, when the "Exhibition of Cable Cars" will be opened, created by the curators of the Public Institution Museum of Sarajevo Aida Sulejmanagić, Amra Madžarević and Žanka Dodig.
On the birthday of Sarajevo, on April 6, a ceremony will be held to launch the new cable car, and awards will be given at Baščaršija for the best photographs of the exhibition "Remembrance", accompanied by the performance of the group Divanhana.
“This is an emotional moment for me, the day when we will open the Sarajevo cable car. We look at the building and putting into operation the Trebević cable car from three aspects. The first is the infrastructural aspect in which the City of Sarajevo invested a lot of funds, and this is one of the biggest investments of the City of Sarajevo since the end of the war,” Mayor Skaka said.
The second aspect is economic, and according to Mr. Skaka, the tourist offer in the city will be enriched by putting into operation the Trebević cable car, while the third one, the emotional aspect which is, in the opinion of the Mayor, the most important one, is the connection between Sarajevo citizens and Trebević.
At the press conference, the song “Trebević ponovo silazi u grad” (transl. “Trebević is coming back to the city”) by Zlatan Fazlić Fazla, performed by former singers of the band Ambasadori - Hari Varešanović, Ismeta Dervoz, Zdravko Čolić and Jasna Gospić, was promoted.
