SARAJEVO, March 22 (FENA) - MPs of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the session that concluded last evening did not support the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code under urgent legislative procedure proposed by SDA MP Amir Fazlić.

There was not even a debate on the Bill since there were not enough votes from Republika Srpska, the harmonization in the collegium of the House of Peoples will be done subsequently.

Some MPs, in the statements to journalists explaining their voting, said that there is a proposal of the Ministry of Justice of BiH to amend the laws necessary for the implementation of the decision of the Constitutional Court that has declared a certain provision of the CPC unconstitutional eight months ago.

The MPs supported the amendments to the Law on Salaries and Remunerations in the BiH Institutions, which envisages an increase in salaries for soldiers and non-commissioned officers in the Armed Forces of BiH.

Denis Bećirović's parliamentary initiative (SDP BiH) to hold a debate on the Declaration on the Genocide of the Independent State of Croatia against Serbs, Jews and Roma during World War II, which was adopted in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, did not receive sufficient support.

There was no support for it from MPs from Republika Srpska because the essence of this initiative, according to an MP of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) Aleksandra Pandurević that the Declaration adopted in RS is to be put out of force.

A request was filed to the Council of Ministers to prepare the information for the first next session of the House of Representatives from a joint session of the Council of Ministers and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on conclusions regarding the intention of Croatia to build a storage and radioactive waste landfill of at the location of Trgovska Gora.

Pandurević requested that the ratification of the Grant Agreement between BiH and Norway for improving the security of women and the response to gender-based discrimination and violence in BiH not be considered yesterday.

The grant in question is in the amount of KM 190,000, and this item on the agenda has sparked a debate among MPs because one said that safe houses are not very ‘safe’ and do not provide ‘adequate protection to women victims of violence’, others have warned that they are necessary for these categories of society.

Finally, Pandurević’s proposal was rejected and the deputies agreed to ratify this agreement, which marked the end of the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA, and the next session was announced for the 18 April. Chair of the House, Borjana Krišto thanked the MPs for their cooperation and handed over the presiding of the House to Mladen Bosić (SDS).
