Čović: We still have time to amend the Election Law

SARAJEVO, March 19 (FENA) - We have been working intensively in recent months, although everything has not been completed yet, said today a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović, summarizing the chairmanship of this body in the past eight months.

We have especially done when it comes to the EU path of the country. Čović expressed belief that BiH can become a member of the European Union by 2025, together with the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro.

“We have a lot of topics to cover topic in terms of understandings and misunderstandings, especially because of the situation in the Federation of BiH, but also the changes in power in most of the cantons, and by May this year, we will be able to tell what will be the conditions for holding of the general elections,” said Čović.

Referring to the announcement of the elections, which should be held be on 7 October, he expressed belief that the amendments to the Election Law will be adopted in time ensuring the legitimacy of the representation of constituent peoples, which could lead to the of the governments in BiH.
