MOSTAR, Mar 19 (FENA) – Representatives of the Independent Trade Union of employees of the "Ero" Hotel in Mostar on Monday staged a peaceful protest in front of the building of federal institutions, in which a session of the FBiH Government is underway, due to the unresolved status of the workers of the hotel, which was shut down last year.
The workers gathered to demand support from the FBiH Government in solving their status. Contributions for 62 workers were not paid for last four years, for which they cannot exercise the right to retire or be on the list of the employment bureau.
- We always send written correspondence, but nobody has responded. Today, we accidentally found out that the session was held in Mostar, and we came, hoping that somebody will listen to us after the session - said the president of the Trade Union, Mira Mandic.
To remind, in June 2017, the Government of the Herzegovina –Neretva Canton (HNC) took a decision to purchase a building of "Ero" Hotel, where all the cantonal institutions should be accommodated, but until today the sales contract has failed to be signed.
Workers of "Ero" Hotel hope that that the purchase would solve their status.
Representatives of the City of Mostar and the HNC Government previously expressed their position that higher levels of government should be involved in solving the problem.
