SARAJEVO, March 13 (FENA) - Consumers in BiH are filing more and more complaints, which mostly refer to economic services, said Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović after session of the Consumer Protection Council of BiH.

Session was held on the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day, and Šarović stated that number of complaints keeps increasing.

"This is a warning for the entire society that the consumer protection needs to be raised to a higher level," emphasized Šarović.

He reminded that the law was adopted earlier in this area, but regardless of that, level of consumer protection is not satisfactory.

He emphasized that radical change is necessary to bring consumer protection in BiH closer to the EU standards.

"Consumers are becoming more aware of their rights and they need to be given a change to exercise those rights," said president of the Association "Futura", which deals with consumer protection Marin Bago.

World Consumer Rights Day has been marked on March 15 for 35 years, and it has been marked in BiH since the legislative framework was adopted in 2006.
