SARAJEVO, March 9 (FENA) - The delegation of the Centar Municipality of Skopje, headed by Mayor Saša Bogdanović, visited today the Centar Municipality of Sarajevo and Mayor Nedžad Ajnadžić.
Representatives of the two local communities from Sarajevo and Skopje signed a memorandum on the intention to establish cooperation between these two municipalities. As stated in the signed Memorandum, the ultimate goal is the implementation of joint projects of mutual benefit and interest for the citizens of the two local communities in the field of economy and local economic development, tourism, culture, education, environmental protection and sport.
Mayor Ajnadžić said he expected much from the future cooperation of these two municipalities.
"In the future, we could jointly develop ways and projects for EU accession funds, which we will be able to implement," Mr. Ajnadžić explained.
Mayor Bogdanović stressed that this was the second municipality with which a fraternization procedure has been initiated, the first being a municipality in Istanbul, Turkey.
Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia to Bosnia and Herzegovina Aleksandar Krstevski, who was also present during the signing of the Memorandum, is a direct participant in the establishment of cooperation between the Centar Municipality of Sarajevo and the Centar Municipality of Skopje, Macedonia, stated the Centar Municipality of Sarajevo.
