8 March Activist Walk - No woman should be left invisible

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 7 (FENA) - The CURE Foundation organizes an activist walk/march on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day in Sarajevo tomorrow, together with all other interested organizations, formal and informal groups, as well as members of the BiH Women Network who want to draw attention with their presence to the lack of awareness for the problems that women face in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The start of the march is in front of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and the participants will walk through Marshal Tito Street of to the Children of Sarajevo Square. The messages from the march should contribute to making women invisible no more.

The history of women's rights has been turbulent, and women around the world who fight and acquire certain rights, lose them very quickly.

Unfortunately, after the strong role that women in BiH have had throughout history, in 2018, many of us are on the very margins of society, we do not decide on important economic and political issues, we do not participate in important decision-making about the present and future of our country, we are not negotiating about constitutional changes or the reform agenda, there aren’t any of us in the Presidency of BiH, the unemployment rate of women is alarmingly high, and marginalized women are discriminated against at multifold levels, stated the CURE Foundation.
