MOSTAR, Mar 6 (FENA) - Commenting on the unresolved border issues between BiH and Serbia, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, said on Tuesday in Mostar that he issues could be solved and that this would not be a sticking point between the two countries on their EU path.
- It is 373 kilometers of border and I really think we can solve it - said the President of the Republic of Serbia after the trilateral meeting held in Mostar, adding that they will continue to talk about this issue and have already prepared a proposal for BiH.
- I think that some representatives in BiH, or two of the three members of the BiH Presidency, were willing to accept it. We offered the most concrete suggestions, and these are not the most appropriate ones for Serbia - Vucic said
BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic said that this issue would be resolved with Serbia, adding that it is in the interest of both countries.
Asked whether this would be resolved in the next seven months, Izetbegovic responded that every problem was squared in these pre-election months.
- I think we can find a solution that we are all satisfied with when it comes to the border between Serbia and BiH - said Izetbegovic.
Croatia's president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said that it was agreed with Serbia that they would negotiate bilaterally within two more years, and if this fails and no solution is found, they will turn to an international judicial body.
As for the border with BiH, an agreement was signed in 1999 that was not ratified, but it has been in provisional implementation and it is implemented. I think we need to continue talks about the border through the mixed commissions in the future, and if we fail, we will seek international assistance through international judicial bodies - said the Croatian President, Kolionda Grabar Kitarovic.
