Members of BiHPA Joint Committee meet with EUFOR Commander Waldner

SARAJEVO, March 6 (FENA) - Members of the Joint Committee on Defense and Security of BiH met today with EUFOR Commander in BiH, Major General Anton Waldner.

Chairperson of the Joint Committee Sifet Podžić, Deputy Chairpersons Borislav Bojić and Borjana Krišto, members of the Joint Committee Hazim Rančić, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Bariša Čolak, Hanka Vajzović and Mario Karamatić, and Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović all attended the meeting and exchanged information on the activities of the Joint Committee in 2017, as well as on the work program for 2018.

General Waldner briefed the members of the Joint Committee on Defense and Security about the mission and focus of the work of the EUFOR Command in BiH in 2018 and 2019.

It was emphasized that the defense sector will be focusing on the monitoring of the budgetary spending and the public procurement process, activities related to the destruction of surplus weapons, ammunition and mine explosives, the state of human rights in the Armed Forces of BiH, as well as the process of implementation of the "Defense Review" document.
