SARAJEVO, March 5 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović met today with Mikheil Janelidze, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Georgia.
During the meeting, the collocutors emphasized that the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia were friendly, without open issues, but with low dynamics of high-level visits.
They discussed the possibilities of improving bilateral relations between the two countries and the need to develop cooperation, particularly in the areas of transport, tourism and trade. They welcomed the abolition of visa regime, which opens space for a higher frequency of visits and creates a prerequisite for more intensive trade, increased investment and development of cooperation in the field of agriculture and the exchange of services in the information technology and construction sector.
The topic of the meeting was the current political situation in both countries. The collocutors expressed support for finding a peaceful solution to the political and humanitarian crisis in Georgia, with respect for its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Mr. Janelidze welcomed the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to the Euro-Atlantic integration, pointing out that Georgia has a high level of support for European values and that it could use the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU integration process.
On behalf of the BiH Presidency Chairman Dragan Čović, the meeting was attended by advisor Dejan Vanjek and on behalf of the BiH Presidency Member Mladen Ivanić, the meeting was attended by advisor Diana Čekić, the BiH Presidency stated.
