SREBRENICA, March 1 (FENA) - A solemn academy on the occasion of the Independence Day of BiH was held today at the Cultural Center in Srebrenica.

The program was performed by the children of Srebrenica, aged 4 to 16 years old.

One of the organizers was Meliha Herić, a Bosnian language professor, who in the statement to FENA said that the audience had a chance to see a wonderful program to celebrate the Independence Day of BiH.

“At the event, we presented historical facts about the process of gaining independence. I hope that all significant dates will be celebrated in Srebrenica, and that Srebrenica will be a city just like any other in BiH,” said Herić.

Herić expressed gratitude to parents, Bosniak representatives from local governments and a non-governmental organization EMMAUS.

The Academy was attended by: RS Vice President Ramiz Salkić, President of the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly Alija Tabaković, Deputy Mayor of Srebrenica Nermin Alivuković, Deputy Mayor of Bratunac Salih Dubičić, representatives of the Association of the Mother of Srebrenica and numerous citizens of Srebrenica.
