SARAJEVO, February 28 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Mektić is currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom, where he held a series of meetings with top officials of the British government and security agencies.
The aim of this visit is the exchange of experiences and improvement of bilateral relations in the security sector between the two countries.
Minister Mektić and British Minister of Security Ben Wallace discussed the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between security agencies in the fight against terrorism and extremism, organized and high-tech crime, and the fight against corruption.
The delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that included the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency Perica Stanić, also visited Scotland Yard, where they met with Dean Haydon, Commander of Counter-terrorism Command and discussed fight against terrorism, new threats and accountability of states to jointly combat this global security challenge.
During his official visit to the United Kingdom, Minister Mektić will also meet with European Affairs Minister Alan Duncan and exchange views on European prospects of BiH and the progress made on the path to the EU, stated the BiH Ministry of Security.
