BiH-Iran business forum to include representatives of over 30 Iranian companies

SARAJEVO, February 27 (FENA) - The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH FTC), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is organizing the BiH - Iran Economic Forum on 2 March and representatives of more than 30 Iranian companies are expected to attend, the BiH FTC told FENA.

Iranian businessmen are supposed to arrive together with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zafir.

The aim of the forum, according to the BiH FTC, is to promote the economic cooperation between the two countries in terms of foreign trade and joint ventures, through the direct linking of businessmen and the promotion of investment opportunities.

The plenary session will include speeches delivered by the chairman of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber Ahmet Egrlić, Vice-President of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture, Masoud Khansari, and then by the relevant ministers from BiH and Iran. Representatives of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) will hold a presentation on investment opportunities in BiH.

Bilateral meetings between Iranian and BiH businessmen are planned to be held after the plenary part of the event.

Members of the Iranian delegation operate in various fields: agricultural and food sector, construction, health and health tourism, medical equipment, engineering, mining, IT, the pharmaceutical industry, petrochemistry. The delegation also includes representatives of trading companies and investors.

The list submitted to the Chamber includes representatives of 31 companies from Iran, while applications for BiH companies are open until 1 March.

The Forum will be held at the Novotel Sarajevo Bristol hotel.
