SARAJEVO, February 23 (FENA) - The Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, met today with the Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Karin Kneissl, with whom he discussed the relations between BiH and state bodies of Austria.
Reis-ul-ulema emphasized that the friendship between the Republic of Austria and the Islamic Community in BiH was strong and that open issues should be tackled in the spirit of the historical friendship of the two peoples and not by making unconvincing insinuations in the media.
The collocutors stressed the fruitful cooperation between the IC in BiH and the Republic of Austria in the organization of a conference on the legal framework for Islam in the European context and the state and religion in BiH and Austria, as part of the marking of the Year of Culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria in 2016.
Reis-ul-ulema pointed to the historically good relations, not only between the Republic of Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosniaks as a people but also between Muslims among them and their Islamic communities, saying that he hopes this meeting will contribute to the strengthening of these ties, MINA reports.
