SARAJEVO, February 23 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović today stated that the competent authorities of the European Commission approved a Plan for monitoring red meat residues (cattle, sheep and pig meat) to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is the first a major step in the process of approving exports of this type of meat into the European Union.
“For several years now, the Veterinary Office of BiH and the competent inspection bodies and services in RS and the Federation of BiH have been preparing and implementing the plans for monitoring residues in animals and raw material of animal origin. Each year, the Council of Ministers secured from the budget 550,000 KM for the implementation of these activities.
What comes next for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be added to the list of countries that have been approved the residual monitoring plan,” said Minister Šarović.
He emphasized that, after obtaining the license for exports to the EU of fishery products, milk, honey, poultry meat and poultry meat products, fruits and vegetables, potatoes as the most vulnerable species, an important precondition for the obtaining of the license for this type of meat and products of animal origin has been met, stated the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
