Kavazović: Existence of Catholics and Croats in BiH is tied to our own existence

SARAJEVO, February 20 (FENA) - Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina Hussein effendi Kavazović received today the delegation of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Croatian Parliament, led by Miro Kovač, Chairman of the Committee.

The two sides discussed the relaxation of relations between Bosniak and Croat peoples and the role of religious communities in BiH society.

Rais Kavazović stressed that the peoples in BiH have lived together for centuries and that they working together and cooperating quite as well in their daily lives, but that the problem is in the politics which does not deal with citizens’ true problems but instead, the politics only raises tensions.

Stressing the good cooperation of the Islamic Community in BiH with the Catholic Church, the ‘Napredak’ Society and numerous organizations and individuals from the Croat people, Rais Kavazović stated that "the existence of Catholics and Croats in BiH is directly tied to our own existence in BiH", expressing the willingness of the IC to use all its capacities so that the political turmoil would not translate into relations among the peoples, the MINA stated.
