Sarajevo Gas, East Sarajevo delays the announced suspension of gas transport

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, February 20 (FENA) - The company Sarajevo Gas, East Sarajevo today announced that it would postpone the announced suspension of natural gas transport for the next week since BH-Gas has requested additional time to decide on the proposed protocol, and given that low air temperatures have been announced for the coming weekend.

They remind that the Sarajevo Gas, East Sarajevo has earlier sent a notice on the suspension of transport via the Karakaj pipeline (Zvornik) - Starić (Kladanj), to BH-Gas, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, RS Government, FBiH Government and other competent bodies, but that BH-Gas has remained with its decision not accept the price of transport determined by the Regulatory Commission for Energy of RS (legally binding for the Sarajevo Gas, East Sarajevo), forwarded to BH-Gas in the form of Annex 7.

However, the Sarajevo Gas, East Sarajevo stressed that they have proposed a compromise solution in the form of a protocol for the purpose of overcoming the problem, which foresees an increase in transport costs by 2 KM/1,000 m3, which would represent an increase in gas price by 0.2 pfennig per cubic meter for the end consumer.

“If a compromise solution is not accepted, the Sarajevo Gas, East Sarajevo has announced that it will suspend natural gas transport, but it has also asked for understanding because it has been left with no other way of resolving the problem,” said the company in the press statement.
