MOSTAR, Feb 12 (FENA) - The Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) pointed out in its statement issued on Monday that it had respected all the necessary procedures, and in good faith announced the negotiation process with the Trade Union of the health care workers. Accordingly, there was no reason to launch a general strike nor was it based on the law, which was confirmed today by the Municipal Court in Mostar.
"The Government has made all the necessary pre- conditions under the Labor Act so that the process of negotiation could start on February 26. It also informed the Trade Union representatives who accepted the above mentioned term and continued activities on the preparations for the negotiations. Despite the fact that February 26 was initially accepted as the date of the beginning of the negotiations, the doctors subsequently changed the decision and entered the general strike” says the statement.
HNC Government’ s representatives pointed out that they were firmly committed to dialogue as the only way to reach solutions acceptable to all sides, and called on the Trade Union of Doctors and Dentists of HNC to open negotiation process on February 26.
Prime Minister of HNC Government, Nevenko Herceg, and relevant Minister Goran Opsenica, have reiterated that they understood the demands of the Trade Union and would do their best, in realistic terms, to improve the material position of health care workers, says the statement issued by the HNC Government.
To remind, doctors of medicine and dentistry of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton entered the general strike on Monday.
