SARAJEVO, February 12 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović today met with Ambassador of the Netherlands to BiH Reinout Caspar Vos and Head of the diplomatic office of Belgium in BiH William Asselborn and talked about the successful implementation of joint economic projects and potential new projects and investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The officials also emphasized that the recovery programs for Srebrenica, Bratunac and Milići and the Birač project have resulted in substantive progress in the economic development of these regions, both through the increase in the number of jobs, as well as through the development of infrastructure, water supply systems, power supply, and access to education and improvement of public services.
Šarović said that these are truly significant development projects of the Government of the Netherlands to improve the overall socioeconomic recovery of these regions, which can be further implemented throughout the country and be a platform for more intensive development of all other regions.
The recovery program for the Srebrenica region, valued at around 45 million dollars, has been implemented since 2012, while the Birač project, which has been implemented in the last five years, focuses on rural development and is worth 5.2 million dollars.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Head of the diplomatic office of Belgium expressed their full support for the work of Minister Šarović with the announcement of intensification of cooperation and new important projects, such as water supply projects in a number of communities in BiH, stated the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
